Richard Dean Vorwaller, 76, passed away May 19, 2019. He was born in Logan, UT on November 26, 1942 to Lowell Dean Norman and Mildred Sadie Ames. He married Julie Jean Jensen on February 1, 1962 in Brigham City, UT and to this union they were blessed with one child, Wendy Jean Lee.

They later divorced. Richard then married Karen Jean Hardenbrook on October 16, 1972 in Las Vegas, NV and to this union they were blessed with two children, Mindy Lee Miller and Richie Dean Vorwaller. They later divorced.

Richard resided most of his life in Davis and Box Elder counties. He attended school at Grantsville Elementary, Box Elder High School, and Utah State University. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various positions as a Young Men leader, Bishop’s Storehouse volunteer, and Sunday School teacher.

He had many interests in life: hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, photography, horse riding, mechanic, nature enthusiast and loved touring Yellowstone National Park. He played in several bands as a bass guitarist and singer and built two cabins by hand. Richard’s children and grandchildren were his greatest joy.

He was a devoted friend to many, loved to serve others, and was always able to make everyone laugh with his wonderful sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, and many extended family members. Richard is survived by his children: Wendy Jean Lee, Mindy Lee Miller, and Richie Dean Vorwaller; eight grandchildren: Nathan William Miller, Jason Jo Miller, Malece Miller, Taylor Jo Miller, Baylee Ann Miller, Jaxon Robin Lee, Beckett Richard Vorwaller, Grayson Don Vorwaller and three great-grandsons.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 24th at 11:30 a.m. at Provident Funeral Home, 3800 S. Washington Blvd. , Ogden, UT. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home.
