Obituary for Richard “Dick” Mermon Richard “Dick” Mermon Murrells Inlet Richard “Dick” Mermon, 88 of Murrells Inlet, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018. Born in Valley Stream, NY, he was a son of the late John and Anna Mermon. As a young man Dick worked as a clown diver, putting himself through college to earn a degree in Landscape Horticulture, but became a police officer instead.

He also worked as a wedding photographer, professional crow hunter, sales representative for a fishing tackle company, a book author and hunting and fishing writer/photographer. Dick was a wonderful wildlife artist and built custom fishing rods. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Patricia Mermon; son, Robert Brian Mermon; and brother, John Mermon.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia A. Marshall; and son, Rich Mermon. Services will be held at Malverne Funeral Home in Malverne, NY. Visit www.
