Richard Edward Gonsiewski, 76, of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest at home with his loving wife by his side. “Richie” as he was known by all, was born in Bayonne and was a lifelong resident. He was employed as a locomotive engineer with the East Jersey Railroad of the IMTT Corporation in Bayonne, a position he held for 45 years before his retirement.

Richie was a member of the Hudson County Pigeon Club. His interests and hobbies included, restoring and driving antique cars and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. With a love for the outdoors, Richie was a member of the Atlas Boat Club in Bayonne, where he valued time spent with his family sailing and fishing.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ignatius John and Viola (Dulko) Gonsiewski and his brother Anthony. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife Helen (Kleczynski) Gonsiewski; two sons, Richard Jr. and wife Yvonne and John Joseph and wife Frances; and four grandchildren, Isabella, Brandon, Gavin, and Samantha. A visitation will be held at the Dworzanski & Son Funeral Home on Friday, July 27, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass in Richie’s honor will be offered on Saturday, July 28, at 10:00 a.m. from St. John Paul II Parish of Our Lady of Mt.

Carmel Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
