Richard Edward Sims 1938 – 2019 Richard Edward Sims, 80, of Boonville and formerly of New Franklin, passed away January 22, 2019 at Ashley Manor in Boonville. Richard was born April 4, 1938 in Bunceton, MO a son of David and Leona Baldwin Sims. He married Beverly Martin October 17, 1964 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Boonville.

She preceded him in death February 14, 2014. Prior to retirement, Mr. Sims was employed as a carpenter and also did tower maintence work on signal towers and had served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Richard enjoyed finding coins and artifacts with his metal detector and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Mr. Sims is survived by two sons, David Sims and Erin Sims of Boonville and a daughter, Angela Imhoff and husband, Mike of Blackwater, MO; four grandchildren, Christian Sims and Gavin, Miles and Raine Imhoff and by a brother, Bill Sims of Tempe, AZ. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by several siblings.

Funeral services honoring Richard’s life will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, January 26 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Father Bill Peckman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Franklin, MO.
