Richard’s Obituary Richard Ellery Rose, 54, of 120 Bammer Lane, Hertford, NC, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, in his home. Mr. Rose was born in Prince George County, VA on May 4, 1964, and was the son of Jo Ella Collins Rose Brammer and her husband, Karl, of Hertford, and the late Grover Cleveland Rose. Employed with Honeywell Corp for many years, he was raised in the fellowship of First Congregational Church of Christ in Hopewell, VA.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Rose Creech. Surviving along with his mother and step-father are his two sisters, Gracie Brammer of Hertford, and Valerie Rose Summerfield and husband, Keith, of Hopewell; two brothers, Robbie Rose and wife, Kim, of Dinwiddie, VA, and Greg Rose and wife, Shirley, of Prince George, VA; a step-son, Derek Schaffer of Dinwiddie; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Virginia.

Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made either to the building fund of Bethlehem Church of Christ, PO Box 598, Hertford, NC 27944, or to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.
