Richard Francis McManus, age 87, died March 25, 2018 in Enumclaw. He was born April 20, 1930 in Gilman, Wisconsin to Herbert and Angeline McManus. Rich grew up on a farm with 10 siblings in Wisconsin.

He came to the Pacific Northwest in the 50’s to follow the booming logging industry. Rich married Frances Picaman in 1959. They had 3 children.

Rich spent much of his spare time following his children or grandchildren in all their sporting events. He was awarded with a trophy for the ‘Most Dedicated Fan” for one of his grandkids soccer teams. He loved working with wood and made many of his family handmade jewelry boxes and supplied friends and family with bird and bat houses.

Rich loved giving to others, including chocolate each time the grandkids would visit him or anytime he saw a familiar face at the grocery store. He seemed to have more knowledge than Google. Very well known for his gift of gab, he was able to stop anyone and have a conversation, often learning about their family and sharing stories of his own.

Rich spent a lot of time with his friends bragging about his grandkids school, sports, and career accomplishments. Rich is survived by his son Padrick McManus of Enumclaw; his daughters Bridgett Cerne and husband Joseph of Ravensdale and Mercedes Heep and husband David of Enumclaw; brother Herbert McManus; sisters Joan Michalski, Jean Gaffney, Patricia Illgen (Chuck), and Theodora Bernier; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances; brothers Clarence, Lawrence, and James; and sister Viola and Betty.
