Roy Deloss Bland, 81, of Moses Lake, Washington died May 10, 2018 in Enumclaw, Washington. He was born August 14, 1936 in Medford, Oregon to Rolland Jay Bland and Marjorie (Miller) Bland. Over the years, he had a variety of jobs including seven years in the Naval Reserves, beginning in high school and two years in the US Army, in Korea.

He was a fireman on Northern Pacific Railroad for ten years, a Smith Brothers milkman for five years, and a route driver for Gai’s bakery for twenty years. His favorite job though was driving the school bus in Moses Lake, which he did for eight years. Roy married Susan Bunker in Carmel, California on October 17, 1959.

They had three children: Stacy, Sami, and Greg. Along the way they fished, camped, and traveled together. On Friday afternoons Roy spent time catching up with friends on the previous week’s events.

He was an officer in the Elks and enjoyed community service. Hunting, fishing, and cooking was his passion. He was known for his great sense of humor and all the jokes he would tell that fit every occasion.

Roy is survived by his wife Susan Bland of Enumclaw; daughters Stacy (Sam) Cargill and Sami (Charles) Ritter, both of Enumclaw; and son Greg (Jill) Bland of Colorado. His legacy includes grandchildren Brady, Rachel, Andrew, Quincy, Shaylee, Avery, Connor, and Lexie, as well as great grandchildren Maelyn, Makenzie, Easton, and Brody. A service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
