Obituary for Richard G Farmer Farmer, Richard G., of Festus, Missouri was born January 6, 1932, in Ortonville, Minnesota, to Owen and Edna (nee Peterson) Farmer, and entered into rest, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Scenic Nursing Center in Herculaneum, Missouri, at the age of 86 years, 9 months, and 25 days. He is preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Edna Farmer, and brother, Owen Peter Farmer, Jr He is survived by, Three (3) children, Victoria Lynn (Mark Hofling) Farmer, Steven Richard Farmer, and Elizabeth Pauline Farmer Jaffe, and ex wife Pauline Faye Carr Farmer.

Four (4) grandchildren, Maxim Nathan Jaffe, Myles Benjamin Jaffe, Emily Grace Farmer, and Mia Alexendra Farmer. and many other family and friends Richard was an active leader in his church, serving as a lay speaker and singing in the choir. He was on the board of Lutheran Family and Children’s Services and also served the community as a member of the Rotary Service Club.

Richard served the country for three years in Japan and Korea with the Counter-Intelligence Corps of the U.S. Army. He was an avid reader of American and international history, politics, and foreign affairs. He also enjoyed camping, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation Monday, November 5, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 10301 Big Bend Rd, Kirkwood, Missouri, 63122. Interment at OAK HILL CEMETERY.
