Obituary for Betty Hays Hays, Betty, of Valley Park, Missouri, was born July 21, 1937, in Sturgis, Kentucky to William and Laura (nee Gossett) Mattingly and entered into rest Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Cape Albeon Assisted Living in Valley Park, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 30 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Hays and two (2) siblings, Bernice Mattingly and David Mattingly. She is survived by, two (2) children, Christine (John) Lawson and Richard (Kimberly) Hays, four (4) grandchildren, Jonathan (Hannah) Lawson, Nicholas (Kristin) Lawson, Steven Hays and Megan Hays, three (3) great-grandchildren, Ava Lawson, Henry Lawson, and baby Lawson, two (2) siblings, Robert (Ginny) Mattingly, William Mattingly, and many friends.

Betty loved spending time with her family. Family was the most important part of her life. She was loved by all and never met a stranger.

She loved lake life. She loved watching and feeding the birds. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 12 Noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 10301 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, Missouri. Interment to following services at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in honor of Betty to the Lymphoma Research Foundation development@lymphoma.org.
