NEW BREMEN – Richard J. “Clutcher” Bush, 85, of NYS Route 812, died Sunday morning, June 10, 2018 at his home, under the loving care of his family and Lewis County Hospice. A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Bremen with Rev. Jay Seymour officiating.

A Celebration of Life gathering at the family home, 8301 NYS Route 812, Lowville, will immediately follow the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Bremen Fire Department, 8154 NYS Route 812, Lowville, NY 13367 or St. Peter’s Cemetery, P.O. Box 38, Croghan, NY 13327 or Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367. Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Linda; four children and their spouses, Matthew E. and Jill Bush of Croghan, Michelle L. and John Nortz of Lowville; Jacqueline L. and Dennis Mahoney of Castorland; Joyce M. and Rodney Brouty of Castorland; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Albert Bush of Boonville, Gary and Linda Bush of Lowville; Isabel Bush of Croghan, Elizabeth Bush of Lowville; nine grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by a daughter who died shortly after birth, Lucinda Ann Bush; four brothers, Francis, James, Charles; and Gerald Bush who died in infancy; and a sister, Catherine Grotke. Richard was born on December 28, 1932 in New Bremen, NY, a son of the late Albert F. and Vera B. Goutremout Bush.

He graduated from Lowville Academy in 1950. He went to work for Upstate Telephone Company in March 1951 until February, 1992, starting out as a lineman and retiring as a computer technician. On August 31, 1963, he married Linda M. Sullivan at St. Peter’s Church, New Bremen with Rev.

Flavian Cooligan officiating. Richard was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church, Lowville, an honorary member of the New Bremen Fire Department, former, New Bremen Fire Commissioner; past member of Kelly Hill Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, going to camp and spending time with his grandchildren.
