Richard J. Ferrari October 17, 1930 – January 03, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Durham – Richard Ferrari, 88, died Thursday January 3, 2019 peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Amedeo and Gilda Ferrari. Husband of the late Madeline Ferrari to whom he was married for 62 years.

Richard loved his family unconditionally. He served in the US Army. He began his engineering career in sales at Uniroyal in Naugatuck, CT and Olin Mathieson in New Haven, CT as Director of Materials from 1969-71.

In 1971 he continued his career at Davidson Rubber/Textron as the head of R & D, Executive VP, and then as President. He also wrote several research related books. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, cross county skiing in North Conway and going to sports games with his sons.

He also enjoyed family time at the seaside and spending quality time with his grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Madeline Ferrari and daughter Maryanne Ferrari. He is survived by his three children Audrey Ferrari, Thomas Ferrari and wife Dott, Stephen Ferrari and wife Davi.

Six grandchildren Harimandir Khalsa, Stephen Ferrari, Angelina Ferrari, Alexa Ferrari, Kayla Ferrari, and Rachel Ferrari. His brother, Robert Ferrari and wife Dot and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 11, from 3 – 7 p.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Rd.

(Route 108), Newmarket, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 12th at 10 a.m. from the Church of St. Thomas More, 6 Madbury Road, Durham, NH. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Newmarket.
