Obituary for Mr. Richard J. Inkeles The DAV lost a loyal and beloved brother on July 4th, 2018. Richard J. Inkeles, Age 70, from Neptune, NJ, passed away after a courage battle with liver cancer. He was a Disabled Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army.

He made it his life work to champion for his Veteran Community. He was a member of the NY, NJ Sheet Metal Workers Union. Richard loved helping his DAV Brotherhood, spending time with his friends and family and of course visiting his beloved Atlantic City casinos.

He is predeceased by the love of his life, Barbara Inkeles, his mother, Mary Inkeles, and his nephew and godson, James Imperial. He is survived by his son, Kevin O’Connor, his sister, Joan Imperial and her husband Joseph, his nephew, Joseph E. Imperial, his niece, Jill Imperial, and his great nephew, Joseph A. Imperial. Visitation is from 3-6p, Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune NJ.

A funeral mass will be held 10:00a , Monday, July 9, 2018 at Holy Innocents Church, Neptune, NJ. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin, NJ. To send a memorial gift to the family of Mr. Richard J. Inkeles please visit our Sympathy Store.
