Obituary for Richard J. Meysing Print Garden City- Richard J. Meysing, 82, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin. He was born on March 18, 1936 at Hillsboro the son of Joseph Herman & Mary Margaret (Reznicek) Meysing. He married Mary Ann Trumble on July 20, 1968 at Wichita.

She died on September 28, 2012. Richard graduated from Lincolnville High School in 1954 and attended Tabor College. He worked as a salesman for various things before moving to Garden City and working for USD 457 as a custodian and maintenance person, mainly at Lincoln school.

He moved to North Platte, Nebraska in 1991 and worked as a custodian at the schools there. In 2002 he moved back to Garden City after retirement and spent 8 years at Wal-Mart as a greeter. He was a member of St Dominic Catholic Church, Life Member and 4 th Degree of Knights Of Columbus & the Moose Lodge in North Platte.

His passion was being involved in any Knights Of Columbus activities including October Fest, Bingo and other community projects. He enjoyed dancing, keeping up on the news and being a Nebraska Cornhusker, Kansas State Wildcat and Kansas City Chief fan. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife and 3 Brothers- Leo Meysing, Bernard Meysing & Paul Meysing.

He is survived by his Daughter- Mary Beth Kells of Garden City and Sister- Patricia Waner of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Vigil service will be at 7:00 PM Thursday and Funeral Mass at 2:30 PM Friday both at St Dominic Catholic Church with Rev Warren Stecklein as Celebrant. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
