OBITUARY Richard Johansson July 23, 1931 – November 9, 2018 Richard was born in Boston MA on July 23, 1931. Richard joined the Naval Reserves and in 1950 was called to active duty for 2 years as a parachute rigger. After his discharge he went to Tufts University.

Following his graduation, he began his long career as an Instrument Engineer, serving as President of the professional organization, The Instrument Society of America. After retirement he trained to become an EMT, serving on the Washington Township Ambulance Corps for over 15 Years. An avid skier, hiker, biker & windsurfer Richard was also a member and former President of the Ramapo Mountain Ski Club.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Barbara, son Christian & his wife Lisa, Daughter Lise Chanin, Stepson Robert Kreisler and grandchildren Eric, Chloe Danielle & Timothy Chanin. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Thursday, November 15 from 11AM-12PM. Graveside Service will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ at 12:30PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the Scottish Rite Learning Center, which provides help to dyslexic children c/o Tenafly Masonic Lodge, 404 Tenafly Rd Tenafly NJ 07670.
