Obituary for Richard Lee Krotz Dateline: Jerseyville, IL Richard Lee Krotz, 83, died at 2:53 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville, IL. He was born September 6, 1934 in Godfrey the son of the late Charles and Edith (Ackerman) Krotz. He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey.

Richard was a great gardener and was a farmer for many years. He worked as a carpenter for Dean Mueller Construction finishing his career with Ishmael Construction retiring in 1994. On January 21, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church he married Doris (Mueller) and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Pam Heltsley (Jim) of Jerseyville and Becky Nevlin (Alan) of Godfrey, one son, Kenny Krotz (Karen) of Carrollton, IL, seven grandchildren, Josh Heltsley (Amanda), Angie Heltsley, Caleb Krotz (Jenn), Emily Daniels (Michael), Samuel Krotz, Nichole Lewis (Blake) and Haley Nevlin, and four great grandchildren, Bridget Heltsley, Valery Heltsley, Carley Heltsley, Elizabeth Morgan, and one great granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by eight siblings, Hazel Ashauer, Leonard Krotz, Raymond Krotz, Letha Ribble, Lela Davis, Dorothy Kusterman, Charles Krotz, and Frieda Chambers. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey.

Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey. Reverend Daniel Speckhard officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
