Obituary for Richard Sloan Richard Lee Sloan, 71, of Royalton, passed away at 5:25 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale with his family by his side. Richard was born November 28, 1946 in Peoria to Richard Lee Sloan Sr. and Shirley (Lewis) Sloan. He married Beverly Ann Rich on October 5, 1966 in Joliet.

He later married Genean Graham-Price on May 2, 2009 who preceded him in death on February 24, 2017. He remarried Beverly on August 7, 2017. Richard was retired having been employed by General Motors in LaGrange.

He also owned and operated Lockport Paving. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Jubilee Tabernacle in Desoto.

Richard loved tinkering on antique cars and enjoyed showing them at local car shows. He loved to spend time with his family. Survivors include his wife Beverly of Royalton; three children, Richard (Amy) Sloan of West Frankfort; Tracy Sloan of Hurst, Kim (Jim) Conaway of Hurst and Joy (Mike) Perry of Surprise, AZ; eight grandchildren; Ryan(Karen) Moffatt, Melissa Moffatt, Justin (Charity) Moffatt, Arilyn Sloan, Zachary (Cassey) Webber, Rebecca Webber, Katie and Steven Perry; great-granddaughter, Audrey June Moffatt; sister, Victoria (Phillip) Brandenburg, brother, Paul (Beatrice) Sloan.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Genean and a sister, Jackie Sloan. Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Jubilee Tabernacle, 301 E. Washington Street in Desoto with Rev.

Danny Norman officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Hallidayboro Cemetery at a later date.
