Richard C “Rich” Lencioni, age 65, lost his battle with cancer on January 24th, 2019 at his home. Rich was born November 18, 1953, in Geneva, Illinois to Sylvia & Jerry Lencioni, who both preceded him in death. Rich was a sales representative for American Chicle, Pfizer, Cadbury-Adams, and Kraft.

He graduated from Western Illinois University. In junior high, Rich played in a local garage band. Later in life, he continued his passion for music, playing guitar during camping trips and at local gatherings.

Rich was a mentor and coach for youth baseball in his hometown of Geneva, Illinois. He loved watching the Fighting Illini, in good seasons and bad, and like his dearly departed mother, he was a diehard Cubs fan. His other interests were fishing and tennis.

Rich lived life to the fullest, was a good friend to many, had a great sense of humor, and a knack for making others laugh. He is survived by his devoted life partner of 14 years, Debby Cline; one brother David (Barclay) Lencioni of Bridgeton, MO; two sisters Lori Ufkes of Columbia, MO and Valerie (Ben) Tyler of Batavia, IL; a daughter, Lydia (Justin) Seno and grandson Cohen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Rich’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony at Owens Funeral Home (101 N. Elm St.) in Champaign at 2:00 on February 9. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Rich Lencioni to American Cancer Society.
