Obituary for Rita Cardon Newby Rita Cardon Newby passed away peacefully on November 25, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Beloved mother of Julie Hartman (the late Clyde), Kathy Gros (the late Al), Louis M. Newby II (Wanda), Ted S. Newby (Delane), the late Jerry Lynn Olsen (the late Ronald) and the late Timothy W. Newby. Grandmother of Samuel, Jerry, Christina, Windy, Willie, Timothy, Amie, Erik, Albert, Dorian and Randy.

Great-grandmother of Samantha, Amy, Kayla, Jerry Lynn, Logan, James, Joseph, Julia, Aaron, Micah, Logan, Gabe, Grant, Madalina and James. Sister of the late Leo and Roy Cardon. Daughter of the late Lynn W. Cardon and Amy Blanchard Cardon.

Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rita worked as a nurse’s aide at West Jefferson Medical Center and as a food service worker at Gretna Middle School. For many years, she was active in William D. White O.E.S. Chapter #141 and the Terrytown Golden Agers.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice and to Kayla Petrie for their care and compassion in caring for Grandma Rita. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy. , Harvey, LA on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 9am to 11am.
