Rita Chretien June 06, 1951 – January 24, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Elton-Funeral services for Rita Chretien, 67, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elton. Rev. William Miller will officiate.

Burial will follow in Chretien Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes. The family will receive visitors at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 9 a.m. until time of service. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. with remarks at 10:30 a.m. Rita was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was always humble and was always willing to do without so others could have. Rita was a woman of strong faith and dearly loved the Lord.

She would host prayer meetings at her home where she led many people to the Lord. Rita enjoyed watching T.V. and listening to Gospel music. She gave everyone the benefit of the doubt.

She took great care of her family and was their backbone. She turned no one away. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and making people laugh.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish Rita’s memory include her son, Danny James Sonnier and wife, Denise, of Youngsville, LA; one daughter, Yolanda Perry and husband, Ronald, of Jennings; four brothers, Clayton Chretien and wife, Josephine, of Lake Charles, Leo Chretien and wife, Yvonne, of Beaumont, TX, Robert Chretien Jr. of Elton, and Albert Chretien and wife, Maxine, of Beaumont, TX; three sisters, Willie Mae Terrazas and husband, Michael, of Chicago, IL, Annabelle Chretien of Jennings, and Linda Faye Terrazas and husband, Armando, of Chicago, IL; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Chretien Sr., and Eldarene Gobert; one daughter, Johnette Sonnier; and one brother, Dalton Chretien.
