Buttercup Rice Wisenbaker May 13, 1925 – January 12, 2019 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Oakdale-Funeral services for Buttercup Rice Wisenbaker, 93, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Joe Hoover will officiate.

Burial will follow in Hampton Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes. The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 10 a.m. until time of service. Buttercup was born May 13, 1925 in Bessmay, TX to Chester A. Rice and Olive (Lindsey) Rice.

She went to be with our Lord on January 12, 2019 at the age of 93. “Butter” as she was known by most, married Beryl K. Wisenbaker. Together they raised their four children in Elizabeth, LA.

Butter was active in the Methodist church and various civic organizations. She kept books for the family business and worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses throughout her life. Butter was an excellent cook and cared for her family with loving devotion.

In her later years she enjoyed golf, trips to the casino, and a good card game. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those left to cherish Buttercup’s memory include her three sons, Mike Wisenbaker and wife, JoAnn, of Jourdanton, TX, Stan Wisenbaker and wife, Margie, of Fort Worth, TX, and Jeff Wisenbaker and wife, Susan, of Devine, TX; one daughter, Debbie Bourgeois and husband, Steve, of Zachary, LA; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friend, Meg Hundley.

Buttercup is preceded in death by her parents, Chester A. and Olive (Lindsey) Rice; spouse, Beryl K. Wisenbaker; four brothers, John, Eugene, Benton, and Tymer Rice; two sisters, Violet Hardwicke and Iris Rice.
