Rita Kate Turner April 22, 1957 – January 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Rita Kate Turner, 61, entered into her heavenly home on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on April 22, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri to the late George and Willa Mae Reese, Sr. Rita attended Manual High School and later completed her General Education Development certificate. Rita gave birth to her only son, Aundre Lamon Reese, whom she loved and cared for alone until meeting her husband, James Edward Turner.

Rita and James wed on April 27, 1979. They were married 39 years. To this union was born their only daughter, NoTasha Denise Turner, whom they loved and cherished.

Rita was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Rita loved music, singing, dancing, laughing, and enjoying life! She was known to be “the fun Auntie” by her nieces and nephews.

If her nieces and nephews were having an event, they could count on her to be there, joining in on the fun. Rita was also known for her famous sugar cookies-she made the best! Rita accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at This Rock Christian Tabernacle.

She was dedicated to serving Christ. Rita served as a Deaconess, Secretary for the Sunday School Department, sang in the choir, and if anyone needed a ride to church on the church van, they knew they could count on Rita to make sure that they were on the pick-up list. Rita served in those capacities until her health declined.

However, she worshiped Christ and had a praise in her heart and a smile on her face always. Rita Kate Turner fought the good fight, she finished her course, and kept the faith. Rita Kate Turner found Rest Beyond the River on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Reese and Willa Mae Reese; grandson, Aundre Lamon Reese, Jr; granddaughter, Dreanna K. L. Reese; four sisters, Delma Johnson, Georgia Mae Reese, Lorraine Beavers, and Betty Ann Crawford. Rita leaves to cherish her most precious memories her husband of 39 years, James Edward Turner; her children, Aundre L. Reese and NoTasha Turner; grandchildren, Tina Lewis Shcaroll, Monte Charvez Reese, and DaMontae Lamon Reese; her sister, LuRue Ashley (Dan}; five brothers, Pastor George W. Reese, Jr. (Mary}, Robert Reese, Sr . (Mary Ann}, Ronald Reese, Joseph Reese, and Steven Reese (Joy}; two mothers-in-law, Eariselean Anderson and Dollie Turner; two Sisters-in-law, Unease Jackson and Leatta Anderson; two brothers-in-law, Danny Ray Turner and Charles Anderson; a Special friend, Mary Bostic, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
