OBITUARY Rita L. Holden July 29, 1920 – December 9, 2018 Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Rita L. Holden, 98, of Acushnet will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet, MA. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford. The family will greet friends from 2:00-5:00 .

m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd. , New Bedford, MA.

Mrs. Holden passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Portland Care & Rehabilitation Centre in Portland, CT after a brief battle with Cancer. Rita L. Holden was born July 29, 1920 in Fall River, MA. Daughter of Camille J. and Bella LeBlanc (Bastarache).

She lived most of her life in Acushnet, MA. She was united in marriage to George W. Holden on September 3, 1938 in Acushnet, MA. He preceded her death on Feb.

3, 2000. They were married 62 wonderful years. She was also predeceased by her two brothers, Raymond and Roger Leblanc, and by two sisters Lorraine Andrade and Mildred Girard, a grandson Kyle Holden of Avon, CT.

Rita is survived by her children and spouses; Ann Holden and husband (Al Luongo) from Leesburg, FL, Jack and wife (Janyce) Holden of Portland, CT, 3 loving grandchildren Ryan Boucher of San Francisco, Meghan (Boucher) Poch and husband John of Lubbock, TX, Erin (Holden) Kennedy and husband Thomas of Wethersfield, CT and four great grandchildren, Eavan and Bronwyn Poch, Brayden and Mia Kennedy. Rita enjoyed her family, friends, traveling, and sewing. She was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother.
