of the Tuscarora Nation, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018, at his home. A member of the Snipe Clan, he was born in Lewiston, NY, on April 16, 1972, a son of Robert A. Leighton, Sr. and the late Yvonne D. [Moses] Leighton. Robert graduated from Niagara Wheatfield and served with the US Navy.

He was the plant manager at Pliotron for 24 years. Robert enjoyed bowling and was an avid sportsman. Besides his father, he is survived by his children Robert A. Leighton, III and Arielle Leighton, two brothers Roy Moses and Cory Sawyer, two sisters Christine and Danielle Leighton, his dogs Jackie and Bruce, also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was the father of the late Melody Leighton and brother of the late Angela Leighton. His family will be present on Friday from 6-9 PM at the family home, 5062 Susie’s Lane, Sanborn NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Tuscarora Baptist Church, 2208 Mt.
