Robert’s Obituary TOMLINSON, Robert A. – Of Swartz Creek, age 76, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at Fostrian Manor. Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating. Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Robert was born in Ortonville, Michigan on July 23, 1942, the son of the late John and Agnes (Powers) Tomlinson. On October 30, 1960 he married Lola Dewell in Flint. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He enjoyed his time in the Sea Bee Reserves. Robert was a former member of South Baptist Church. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing.

Mr. Tomlinson retired from GM and was a member of UAW Local #659. He was a former Chaplain at the Genesee County Jail. Surviving are wife, Lola; daughters, Laurie Pieniozek, April and husband Greg Moreau; grandchildren, Christina Tomlinson, Mandy Jones, Nicholas Pieniozek, Richard Pieniozek and Christopher Moreau; great-grandchildren, Brody Jones and Nova Jones; sister, Margie and husband Darrell Arnett; nephew, John Church; many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Jr.; brothers, Jackie and Raymond Tomlinson; sisters, Audrey Thompson and Ruth Hess.
