OBITUARY Robert Ashby September 7, 1943 – September 15, 2018 Robert Mitchell Ashby, 75, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2018. He was a life-long resident of Hixson and original owner of Dub’s Place in Red Bank. He was of the Protestant Faith.

A graduate of City High School, he was a member of the Tennessee National Guard 181 Field Artillery. In his younger years he enjoyed golf and horseback riding. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William G. and Louise Ashby, and a grandson, Shawn Thomas Slaughter, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Kay Tipps Ashby; son, Robert Ashby, II of Colorado; daughters, Katrina (Scott) Pell, and Victoria Slaughter of Chattanooga; three grandsons, and one granddaughter.

At his request there will only be a graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37415 at 1:00 Tuesday, September 18, 2018. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Mountain View Chapter, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416. A special thank you to the Mountain View Chapter nurses and staff for their compassion and caring during a very difficult time.
