OBITUARY Robert “Bob” Davis May 15, 1945 – September 8, 2018 Robert W. Davis, 73, of New Bern passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Bob was born on May 15, 1945 in Milo, ME. In 1980, Bob married Shelby on New Years’ Day.

Bob was in the Marine Corp. for over 10 years and served in Vietnam. He was truly talented and mastered many different trades throughout his lifetime.

This included long-distance truck driving, carpentry, security, working in the log woods, driving a wrecker, and lastly and most recently he retired from E.J. Pope & Son. In Bob’s down time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling, Civil War reenacting, lottery playing, woodworking, and of course spending time with his family. Bob will always be remembered and appreciated for all he did for his entire family and anyone that needed help, and for being World’s Greatest Dad.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Shelby Jean Rhodes Davis; his sister, Marsha Scarborough; and his parents, Evelyn and Ward Homer. Bob is survived by his two children, Leanna Marie Arbuthnott (John) and Sheldon Henry Rhodes; one sister, Dody Lis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services are pending at this time.
