Obituary of Robert “Bob” R. Hewitt, Sr. Robert “Bob” R. Hewitt, Sr., 81, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at his home in Kenilworth, PA. He was the husband of the late Doris J. (Eschbach) Hewitt with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Parkerford, PA, on February 23, 1937, Robert was the son of the late George and Ida (Rinehart) Hewitt.

Bob was a 1955 graduate of North Coventry High School and then served in the United States Army from 1960-1962. He then began his career as a foreman at the Container Corporation for 40 years. He enjoyed cutting grass, watching stock car racing, listening to country music and watching the Phillies.

He is survived by three children, Susan Bechtol, wife of the late David, Pottstown, PA; Robert R. Hewitt, Jr., husband of Joyce, Pottstown, PA; and Tammy Favinger, Stowe, PA; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Heather, Devon, David, Pamela, Angela, and Roberta; seven great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren, David and Jaimi, three step great-grandchildren; one brother, Joshua Hewitt, husband of Lillian, Pottstown, PA; and one sister, Elizabeth Hearn, wife of the late Delmont, Somerset, PA. A viewing will take place on Friday, January 18, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Park.
