Robert (Bobby) Gouffon McCampbell of Niota, TN, 84 passed away peacefully on January 23, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Bobby was born August 23, 1934 preceded in death by parents Robert and Pauline McCampbell and brother, Philip McCampbell. He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years Betty Anderson McCampbell, daughter Bobetta Redden (Russ), Betsy Stafford (David), special grandchildren Daniel Stafford (fiancé Deanna Wright), granddaughters Katelyn Stafford and Katherine Redden.

Farming and agriculture were Bobby’s lifelong passion. At age 22, he received the top Future Farmers of America award for milk production and farm management while owning and operating McCampbell Holstein Farm in Knoxville. In 1976, he sold his dairy farm to spend time with family and become a beef farmer.

Along with beef farming he promoted East Tennessee agriculture through his role as the Tennessee Valley Fair Livestock superintendent, public relations for East Tennessee Livestock Center, and enjoyed many years running cattle sale crews in the Southeast. In 2006, he sold his farm in Knoxville, TN and moved to Niota, TN. In his free time he enjoyed creating metal art.

He has passed down his passion of farming to his grandson Daniel and his creativity to his granddaughters Katelyn and Katherine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the FFA Department of Sweetwater High School, 414 S. High St. Sweetwater, TN 37874. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Kyker Funeral Homes in Sweetwater, TN.

Family and friends will meet at 1:45 P.M. on Sunday at Anderson Gouffon Cemetery in Knoxville; 5114 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918, for a 2:00 P.M. graveside service and interment with Rev. Don Ferguson officiating. Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, in charge of arrangements.
