Robert Charles Payton, 75, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away while visiting family in Louisville, Kentucky on December 9, 2018. Bob was born on September 5, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Robert E. Payton and Helen (Schlangen) Payton. He graduated from Rosedale High School with the class of 1961.

Following his retirement from the military he worked for the United States Postal Service. He retired after 17 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Helen Payton; sisters Helen Wall and Thelma Fraley; daughter Amy Mager Kessinger; granddaughter Haley Bain.

He is survived by his wife Mary whom he married on September 30, 1988; sisters Sally Sequeira and Roberta Boswell; children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. Private services have been planned at a later date. French Funeral Home, in Brazil, Indiana has been entrusted with his care.

Burial will take place at Clear Run Cemetery, in Bridgeton, Indiana.
