Obituary for Robert Clark Dunfield Bob “Bumpa” Dunfield ran into the loving arms of his soulmate, Beth Harris Dunfield on May 31, 2018. He lived his life fighting fires and saving lives for the City of Kalamazoo for 20 years, Eastwood Fire Department for 57 years, and Comstock Fire Department for 20 years. You could always plan on seeing Bobbie Dee if you called 911, even in the middle of the night.
He was a friend to everyone, and was quick to give a hug. He had many hobbies including car shows with his chevy coupe and his million dollar truck, but his favorite pastimes were working in his yard, washing his cars and most importantly, entertaining his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Beth Harris Dunfield; his parents, Ivan and Frances Dunfield; and siblings, Whitey Dunfield, Ray Dunfield, Hy Dunfield, Don Dunfield, and Sue Oliver.
He will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him, including his daughters, Terri (Selise) Dunfield and Sherri (Steve) Dokey; granddaughters, Kali (Sean) Condon and Kassi (Lance) Nine; great-grandsons, Kalin Kanis, Braedon Kanis, Avett Nine and Jenkins Nine; sisters, Bonnie Stacy and Kay Dunfield; as well as countless nieces, nephews, friends, and his fire department family. “Right on! ” Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Haven Reformed Church, 5350 N. Sprinkle Rd. , Kalamazoo, MI 49004. Rev.
Ken Hovenkamp will officiate the service with interment to follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate that memorial contributions be given to Eastwood Fire Association or Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
