Rafferty (“Raff”), 72, of East Norriton, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, January 4, 2019. Born in Shenandoah, PA in 1946, he was the son of the late James S. & Mae (Baney) Rafferty. Bob was a 1963 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School.

He attended Bloomsburg University and Penn State University. “Raff” was the proprietor of Rafferty’s Café in Tamaqua, PA for almost 30 years. He celebrated the history of the tavern everyday but especially on St. Patrick’s Day.

Bob loved playing and watching many sports, including football, baseball, basketball and golf. He enjoyed coaching CYO basketball at St. Jerome, in Tamaqua, Pa for several years. Bob cherished the time he spent watching and supporting his children and grandchildren as they participated in sports, music and academics.

He was a devoted father, grandfather and husband of Victoria A. (nee Pleszkoch) Rafferty, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Also surviving Robert are his children, Bobby Rafferty (fiancée Rosaleen); Brian Rafferty (fiancée Tara); Shannon Czincila (husband Bob); and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Connor, and Paige. An Irish wake, in celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday January 12th from 12-3pm at Parc Bistro, 4067 Skippack Pike, Skippack, PA.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made in his memory to Einstein Montgomery Home & Hospice, 1330 Powell St., Suite 100, Norristown, PA 19401.
