Robert’s Obituary Leominster-Robert E. Fitzgibbon, 90, of Leominster, died peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018 in HealthAlliance Hospital, Leominster, surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Fitchburg, November 1, 1928, a son of the late John J. and Mathilda M. (Bussiere) Fitzgibbon and has lived in Leominster for many years. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of over 65 years, Mary A. (Mulcahy) Fitzgibbon; five nieces and nephews, Ronald Fitzgibbon and his wife Irene of Fitchburg, John Rackliffe and his wife Monique of Smithfield, RI, Debra Jeffries and her husband Steven of Fitchburg, Sandra Lawrence and her husband Jay of Parrish, FL , Lisa Mulcahy of Fitchburg and many great-nieces and nephews and extended family.

Robert worked as a Stationary Engineer for Cranston Print. Prior to that he worked at Leominster Hospital for many years. Robert was very proud of his Irish Heritage and held duel citizenship in Ireland and the United States.

He loved traveling along-side his wife. Together they traveled all over Europe. They were fortunate to attend The Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany, which is held every ten years, in 1990 and 2000.

Robert was a passionate photographer and loved sharing his many photos of the couples trips with his family. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and the Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 243 Water St. Fitchburg, with a Mass at 10 am in St. Leo’s Church, 108 Main St. Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Fitchburg.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 4-7 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Leo’s Church, 108 Main St. Leominster, MA 01453, The Sisters of the Presentation, 99 Church St. Leominster, MA 01453 or left at the funeral home. John F.
