Robert E. Harrier, 70, of Zanesville, passed away July 2, 2018. Robert was born January 11, 1948 to the late William H. and Mary C. (Burns) Harrier, Sr. In addition to his parents, Robert is also preceded in death by his infant son, Shane Harrier. Robert leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife, Joyce E. Harrier; brother, Bill (Jane) Harrier; sister, Donna George; son, Mike Harrier; step-children, Donnie Urban, and Esther Hassell; grandchildren, Rob Harrier, Kennedy Hassell, Lauren Hassell; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Robert served in the United States Navy from 1969 until 1972, and worked 34 years with the government. He recieved a Special Achievement Award for Task Force One recovery of the flight of Apollo 10, aboard the USS Chilton in the eastern Atlantic. Robert had a tremendous love for fishing throughout his life.

A record muskie weighing 33 pounds and 44 1/2 inches in length was his most prized catch. Per the families wishes, no services will be held. Anyone so inclined may make donations in Robert E. Harrier’s honor to the Morrison House Hospice Center in Zanesville.
