Robert E. “Zizzy” Knowlton, Sr., 83, died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 6, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Springfield to the late Charles and Lillian (Darrah) Knowlton. An avid Yankees fan, he enjoyed fishing in area ponds and lakes.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Crowley) Knowlton. He is survived by four children; Kathy Calcasola and her husband Joseph of East Longmeadow, Kenneth Knowlton and his partner Barbara of East Longmeadow, Darlene Evelyn and her husband John of Feeding Hills and Michael Knowlton and his wife Sandy of Springfield, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, five sisters, three brothers and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was also predeceased by his son Robert Knowlton, Jr. and four siblings.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 – 11 am at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd. , Wilbraham. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
