Robert Earl Stitt, 97, of Kittanning Township, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Grey’s Colonial Acres. He was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Kittanning Township, to the late Donald Keith and Ruth (Hileman) Stitt.

He worked for Union Operating Engineers No. 66 for more than 50 years, as well as Houser Coal Company for 11 years. He was a lifetime member of Emmanuel (Heilman) Lutheran Church; as well as a former Kittanning Township Supervisor, and a Kittanning Township Volunteer Fireman for more than 45 years.

He belonged to the Road Runners Camping Group, and an was avid hunter who enjoyed hunting in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He loved going to Cranberry Camp, where he was a life member, and he also enjoyed mowing grass and trap shooting. Survivors include his daughters, Nancy (Leroy) Baker, of Ford City, Barbara Busch (Allan Henson), of Clarksville, Tenn.

, Rosemarie (William) Brown, Westminster, Colo. , and Susan (Gregory) Shaw, of Shelocta; grandchildren, Tammy (Jamie) Baum, Kimberly (Mike) Gearhart, Shelby (J.D.) Dubes, Teresa (Pete) Booker, Robert (Barbara) Busch, Kristen (Jeremiah) Carey, Justin Shaw, and Sarah (Ryan) Scrips; and 17 great- grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 72 years, Amy (Reichert) Stitt, who passed away Dec.

12, 2017; an infant son; and sister, Lois Brandstetter. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Emmanuel (Heilman) Lutheran Church with the Rev.

Jack Delk officiating. Burial will be in Emmanuel (Heilman) Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Robert’s memory to Kittanning Township Volunteer Fire Department, 13126 State Route 422, Kittanning, Pa.
