Funeral services for Robert Gardiner, 34, of Hudson, will be held Friday, July 20, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Lloyd Thurman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Robert was born November 16, 1983 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of James Edison Gardiner Jr. and Terry Jean (Free) Gardiner, and died Monday, July 16, 2018 in Lufkin. Robert loved to hunt and fish. Before he became self-employed, he was a long time, respected employee at Ace Paint Contracting.

Robert spent most of his youth working at Mom’s Diner. Robert is survived by his wife of 13 years, Misty Gardiner of Hudson; son, Kaden Zane, daughter, Mallory Hope, son, James Dale, daughter, Victoria Renee, all of Hudson; father and mother, James and Terry Gardiner of Hudson; sister and brother-in-law, Miranda and Christopher Rudd of Hudson; sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Jean Gardiner of San Antonio; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Yong Ja Gardiner and JW and Bonnie Free.

Pallbearers will be Branden Shirley, Charles Herring, Keith Shirley, Wesley Ford, Charlie Free, and Richard Free. Honorary pallbearers will be James Dale, Kaden Zane, Luke Oliver, Kasee Free, Daniel Turley, and Shawn Ferguson. Special memorials may be made to the Hudson High School Band Booster Club, 6735 Ted Trout Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Shafer Funeral Home. Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
