Obituary for Robert M. Grove Robert Milo Grove was born the son of Milo I. Grove and Mary A. Bozek on May 29th, 1949 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away on July 12th, 2018 at the age of 69 years old. Robert grew up in Portage, Michigan and graduated from Portage Northern High School in 1967. He attended the University of Oklahoma for about a year and a half.

He made his way to the Yukon Territory and then Alaska. He enlisted in the US Coast Guard in 1970 and served aboard the USCGC Westwind, Southwind, and Edisto from 1970 to 1974 and the Coast Guard Reserve until 1976. After the Coast Guard he was a salesman, an insurance agent, and a long haul truck driver based out of Dallas, Texas.

Robert finally listened to his mother and went back to college. He attended and graduated from North Texas State University with a BS degree, Computer Science major, Russian minor in 1981. He married Nancy Elizabeth Luepnitz on August 2nd, 1980.

After graduation, Robert and Nancy moved to Freeport, Texas to work at Dow Chemical. In 1984, Robert and Nancy moved to Oregon where he began working for Tektronix Inc. In 1990, he took a position with IImorrow in Salem, beginning a 28 year career in aviation technology. He worked for IImorrow, UPS Aviation Technologies, and Garmin.

His daughter, Maryjanna, was born February 12th, 1989 and son, Andrew, was born April 30th, 1991. From March, 2015 to February, 2018 he had the opportunity to live abroad and work for Garmin in Germany. Robert was an avid fan of the Portland Timbers, loved travel, foreign languages and meeting new people.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles, boats, airplanes and anything with an engine. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many. Preceding him in death are: his sister Connie Grove in 1965: father Milo Grove in 1981: mother Mary Grove in 2003.

Surviving and left to honor his life are: his wife Nancy Grove in Newberg, OR: his daughter Maryjanna Grove in Lake Oswego, OR and son Andrew Grove in Newberg, OR: sister Cathy Grove and brother in law Michael Whetter in Portland, OR: nephew Brian Whetter in Seattle, WA and niece Amy Whetter in Silver Spring, MD: and those who have come to know and appreciate him where he has lived and worked. His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 20th 2018 at 11am at St. Peters Catholic Parish in Newberg, OR. Rosary will be at 10:30am before the Mass.

Reception to follow Mass with food and shared Robert stories. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery on July 24, 2018 at 9:30am. Donations in remembrance can be made to Catholic Charities.
