Robert I. Buck, 88, of Southmont, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on December 26, 2018. Born in Johnstown, March 21, 1930, son of the late George E. and Hildagarde T. (Ivory) Buck. Beloved husband of 56 years to Kathryn (Homa); loving father of Susan Gresh (Lawrence), Robert J. Buck, Melissa Garman, (widow of Rick Garman); cherished grandfather of Jessica and Jacob Buck, Christopher Garman, Noah Gresh; and great-grandchildren Sophia and Oliver.

Brother of the late Dr. George Buck and Ann Gerber. Bob and his father owned and operated the Acme Auto Body shop on Washington Street until the 1977 flood, and then worked as an auto body instructor at Admiral Peary Area Vocational Technical School until his retirement. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War.

Bob put family first and provided many lasting memories for us all including years on the mountain looking for the perfect deer, annual family beach vacations, Sunday dinners, planting gardens, and the biggest fan of the Westmont Football team. He was a charter member of St. Clement parish. Family and friends will be received 3-7 PM on Friday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary, Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 AM Saturday, at St. Clement Catholic Church, Fr. William Rosenbaum, officiating. Entombment Grandview Mausoleum, where military rites will be held by Conemaugh Valley Detachment #287, Marine Corps League.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
