Robert Joseph Mendoza January 30, 1930 – February 16, 2019 Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Chief Petty Officer Robert “Bob” Joseph Mendoza, 89, passed Saturday, February 16, 2019 in Alamogordo, New Mexico after a brief illness. Bob proudly served in and retired from the Navy after over 20 years as a Communications CPO. He loved radios and anything to do with communications.

Bob retired from University of Wyoming after 17 years in the Communications field. Being a lifetime member of the VFW as well as an active member of both the American Legion and Moose Lodge (where he spent time enjoying the company of his buddies), Bob was a very avid military supporter. Bob was born on January 30, 1930 in Dumont, Minnesota to Reynaldo Mendoza and Marion Mendoza (Doll) of Minnesota.

He married his beloved wife, Christina Louise Mendoza (Harrington) July 7, 1990 in Laramie, Wyoming. Along with his wife, Robert is survived by his Son Daniel Mendoza (Marinel) of Utah, Daughter Cindy Murry (Bob) of Minnesota, Daughter-Vicky Mendoza (Glen) also of Minnesota, Step-daughter Suzanne Bolenbaugh (Gary) of Connecticut and Step-son Ryan Bolenbaugh (Rachel) of Colorado. Bob is also survived by his 7 Granddaughters, 7 Grandsons and his 11 Great-Grandsons.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Lynn Adams and his granddaughter, Christy Mendoza. There will be a memorial service celebrating Bob’s life on Saturday, March 9th at 2 P.M. at the Moose Lodge located 29 S Florida Ave, Alamogordo, NM 88310. This memorial will be with full Military Honors.

Bob’s remains will be laid in his final resting place in Veterans Memorial Park in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico on a separate date. The Mendoza family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home, Inc. to direct the funeral services.
