OBITUARY Robert Nathan Brown February 10, 1936 – September 4, 2018 Robert Nathan Brown, age 82, of Tuscaloosa, Ala. , died September 4, 2018. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Curtis Kelley officiating.

Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, David Patton Brown; mother, Lillie Elma Brown; and three brothers, Rev.

Jack R. Brown, George Brown and Roy Brown. Survivors include his wife, Shelby Darnell Brown of Tuscaloosa, Ala. ; daughters, Renee Brown Bates of Tuscaloosa, Ala.

and Amy Brown Hodges (Luke) of Mobile, Ala. ; son, Gil Brown (Janice) of Duncanville, Ala. ; sister, Mable Gilbert of Warrior, Ala.

; grandchildren, Jennifer Tennyson (Aaron), Tyler Bates (Chelsea), Taylor Brown (Staci), Randi Martin (Billy), Cate Hodges, Lukas Hodges and Braeden Brown; and nine great-grandchildren. Bob was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for more than 50 years and presently a member of Taylorville Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and his faithful canine friend, Max.

He was a master at “honeydo” projects at home and for his children. The log cabin he built for his family was a showpiece. Bob was a Tuscaloosa County Wildcat graduate of 1954.

After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force. He attended The University of Alabama where he received a BS degree in Chemistry and received his FS in Pharmacy from Auburn University. Bob was a pharmacist at Tuscaloosa Veteran’s Hospital for 34 years.

After retirement, Bob could be found at grandchildren events, remodeling anything and everything, or piddling around outside. The family would like to thank Dr. Gene Aldridge, Dr. Richard Shamblin, Amy Wyatt, Dr. Phil Hemstreet, Jeremy Kelley, Dr. Scott Atkins Jr., and Dr. Ranju Shekar. A very special thank you to the nurses and staff at Heritage Rehab, 5th, 6th and 3rd floor ICU at DCH Regional Medical Center for their caring hearts and capable hands.

Pallbearers will be Luke Hodges, Lukas Hodges, Tyler Bates, Billy Martin, Aaron Tennyson, Taylor Brown and Braeden Brown. Honorary pallbearers are past and present employees of the VA Pharmacy, members of the Ruth Sunday School class at Ridgecrest Baptist Church and members of Bobby Davis Sunday School class at Ridgecrest Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to your favorite charity/organization in Robert’s memory.
