Obituary for Robert W. Meyer Robert Walter Meyer, 95, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the King Veterans Home. He was born on June 1, 1923 in Berlin, Wisconsin, son of the late Hubert and Josephine (Domask) Meyer. Bob attended his school years in Berlin and served in the US Army during World War II.

Bob was a member of the Berlin Wells-Krause VFW Post #2925. He was united in marriage with Mary Renata Jakubowski, October 4, 1952. Bob and Renata resided in Berlin and both were members of the St. Joseph and St. Michael Catholic Churches.

Bob was later a member of All Saints Catholic Parish. Bob and Renata enjoyed touring the United States together and dancing, prior to Renata’s passing on April 14, 2000. Prior to Bob’s retirement, he worked for Williams Cleaners and the Berlin School district in a maintenance position.

Bob was a figure skater and gave lessons, prior to marriage. Bob enjoyed golfing (he met many golf pros), boating, Packer games, motorcycles (younger days), building go carts, and music. Bob was a member of the King choir at the veterans home.

He had a great time playing bingo, volleyball, and all of the activities, in his years as a veteran’s home resident. Bob is survived by his four children; Jeanne Randall-Berlin, Jim Meyer (Becky) of Green Bay, Jill Gregor (Dave) of Berlin, and Jackie Foley (John) of Tennessee; sister, Barb Ceaman of Green Lake. He is further survived by 17 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Josephine Meyer; wife, Renata; daughter, Joanne; grandson, Curtis; granddaughter, Kristen; great-grandson Max Randall; and son-In-law, David Randall. Special appreciation to all of the family and friends for your support during Bob’s illness. Special thank you to all the staff at King Veterans Home and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care provided for Bob.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin at 10:30 a.m. with Father David Greenfield officiating. Family and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at the Wiecki Skipchak Funeral Home of Berlin from 4-7:00 p.m., and also on Thursday June 21, 2018 from 9-10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment with Full Military Honors provided by the Berlin Wells-Krause VFW Post #2925 will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Berlin, all are invited back to the Parish hall for a luncheon.
