Robert W. Stephenson, 87, of Sylvania, OH, took his final journey home Monday morning, November 12, 2018, at his home while under hospice care, with his loving family by his side. He was born July 23, 1931, in Toledo, to parents Kelly and Ruth (Pelton) Stephenson. Bob received his under graduate and master’s degree from the University of Toledo, where at that time he became an avid Toledo Rocket supporter and season ticket holder for football and basketball, both the men and women’s teams for many years.

He was employed as a High School Guidance Counselor for many years retiring from Whitmer High School. Bob and his wife Janice enjoyed time spent traveling. After her passing he continued his travels with his significant other Judi Young, who survives.

Bob spent many winters skiing and summers boating at his Manistee Lake home. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends. Bob is survived by his daughters Linda (Walt) Martineau and Sherri Stephenson; son Scott Stephenson; grandchildren Scott (Sara) and Brittany Martineau; brothers in law Denny Kauser and Dave (Sue) Bissonette.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife Janice (Bissonette) Stephenson and sister Judy Kauser. Family and friends may gather at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Thursday, November 15th from 4 – 7 PM. Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider, in lieu of flowers, The University of Toledo Foundation, or the hospice of the donor’s choice.
