Waterville-Roderick F.(Rod) Boutot 74, passed away unexpectedly Saturday September 8, 2018 at Inland Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born in Caribou, Maine on June 3, 1944 the son of Fernando and Rose (Plourde) Boutot. He was educated in local schools and was a 1962 graduate of Waterville High School and then was a 1966 graduate of Husson College in Bangor with a business degree.

Department Store in Portland in 1966, transferred… Read More » to manage several stores over the following years and later moved on to the Kings Department Store in Biddeford as manager. He left retail to work for almost 20 years for the Prudential insurance Co. starting as a sales agent, then worked up to Sales manager and then to District manager in districts first in Maine, then in upstate New York He returned to Maine where he moved on to employment with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. and worked until retirement. His main passion in life was his family, especially time with his grandchildren and many trips he made with them to the “county” and church life.

He volunteered his time to Corpus Christi Parish here in Waterville to be general contractor for the present church renovations and working with the parish councils for many years. Rod was a member of the local Kiwanis Club and Rotary Club. He is survived by his loving wife Lorene (Remillard) Boutot whom he married in 2000; his four sons, Roderick Boutot, Jr. and wife Suzanne of Auburn, Jeffrey Boutot and wife Wendy of Scarborough, Timothy Boutot and wife Trish of Cumberland and stepson Shannon Daigle of Gardiner; one step-daughter, Alecia Blair and husband Matthew of Ft.

Bliss, Texas; his brother, Daniel “Dave” Boutot of Lincoln, Nebraska and sister Dina LaFlamme and husband Steve of Winslow; also by his grandchildren, Tanya Ramirez, Derek Gagne, Dominic Boutot , Josh and Shane Maloney, Sara and Katy Boutot, Aidan and Ava Blair and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2-4 and 5-7 P.M. Wednesday September 12, 2018 at the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St. Waterville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM.

, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument Street Winslow. A reception will immediately follow the service at Notre Dame Church Hall 116 Silver Street Waterville. Interment will be held later at the convenience of the family.
