Rodney Duane Long, 48, of 384 Shirk Rd. , Millmont, for the past 24 years, entered into rest at 1:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 17, 1969, in Lewisburg, a son of Donald R. and Kafy M. (Kline) Long, of Millmont.

On June 26, 1993, in the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, he married the former Marcella “Marcy” D. Tharp, who survives. Rodney was a 1988 graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School. He was a member of the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, since 1995, where he assisted in many operations of the church, including acting as bell ringer on Sundays.

Rodney was employed at Pennsylvania House, Lewisburg, for six years. He worked on his family farm in Millmont with his father and grandfather most of his life. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Central Pennsylvania Vintage Iron Club.

Rodney enjoyed watching the tractor pulls at the West End Fair, spending time outdoors, and helping others. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, are one sister and brother-in-law, Sandra M. and Shane Witmer of Millmont; two nephews, Trey B. Witmer and Sean E. Witmer; and two nieces, Ashley L. Rine and Caitlin M. Rine. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, where the funeral will be conducted at 11, with Pastor Samantha McElwee and Rev.

Mark Messner, officiating. Burial will be in the Lincoln Chapel Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to either Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800 or the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 156, Laurelton, PA 17835.

Funeral arrangements are by Roupp Funeral Home, Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Rd. , Mifflinburg.
