Obituary for Roger M. Belton Roger M. Belton, 89, of Naples, FL passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 at North Collier Hospital. Formerly of Mendham, NJ, he had been a resident of Naples for the past 25 years. Roger was born January 18, 1929 in Mendham, NJ a son of the late Archibald H. and Lyda (Parks) Belton.

Growing up, Roger excelled at sports, especially baseball; he was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers. Mr. Belton was a Korean War veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1950 – 1952. He was a baseball fan of the New York Giants before they moved to San Francisco, longtime season ticket holder of the New York Jets and enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics during the Larry Bird era.

Roger was also Past President of the Mendham Pastime Club, and was a manager and played on the club baseball team for many years. Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Honey (Parrillo) Belton; loving children, Gary (Kim) Belton of Brookside, NJ, Sheree (Jack) Childs of Kapolei, HI, Lori Lotz of Blairstown, NJ and Chris (Sandra Manzoni) Belton of Naples, FL; 8 grandchildren; Amanda Dean, Joanne Dean, Major Corey Belton USMC, Ashely Parks Belton Gold, Esq. , Kristin Belton Lagalante, Nicole Childs, Kylie Belton, McKenziee Belton and 2 great grandchildren; Soliel Belton and Jaxson Lagalante.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Belton. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 22nd, at Dolly’s Produce Patch and Eatery, 9930 Bonita Beach Road, Bonita Springs Florida, at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charities.
