Obituary for Franklin R. “Frank” Brown Franklin R. “Frank” Brown, 92, of Naples, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Bentley Village Care Center. Formerly of Louisville, KY and Marco Island, FL, he had been a resident at Bentley Village since 2010. Frank was born in 1925 in Louisville, KY, a son of the late Samuel A. and Mabel S. Brown.

He was a Marine in WWII serving in the Pacific. He was a University of Louisville graduate, where he was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Mr. Brown founded Brown Sprinkler Corporation, a fire sprinkler co, in Louisville, KY that will celebrate 60 years in December.

He was also instrumental in the founding of the Kentucky Fire Sprinkler Association. Frank was a master mason, a life member 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite of Louisville, KY, was a 50 year member of the Kosair Shrine Temple in Louisville, KY, and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. His hobbies were fishing, golfing, travel, and making rocking horses, doll houses, and airplanes for his grandchildren and charities.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Carolyn (Wilson) Brown; loving grandchildren, Major Christopher (Meredith) Wildt, Melissa (Zach) Barlar, and Casey Brown; and great grandchildren, Alison, Lexie, Alayna, and Ethan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Carol B. Wildt and Richard R. Brown; and his brothers, Samuel A. Brown Jr. and Robert H. Brown. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Louisville, KY with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105 and Kosair Charities in Louisville, KY.
