Obituary for Giulio Louis DiSerafino Giulio Louis DiSerafino, 88, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018. He was born in Devon, PA on April 25, 1930, the son of Luigi and Lucia (née DeFelice) DiSerafino. Giulio was a graduate of Pennsylvania Military College, served as a Captain in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was Assistant Commandant of PMC, now known as Widener University in Chester, PA.

He was acting Principal at Wissahickon High School in Amble, PA and retired as Principal of Kearny High School in Kearny, NJ. He was elected to the prestigious Board of Trustees of Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Giulio was devoted to his family and friends.

Known as Captain “D” by his boys, Dad held very dear to his heart the memories of Pennsylvania Military College and all of the young men who walked the halls at PMC. He was forever grateful for their devotion and brotherhood. Our father was a great man who taught by example.

Our father was a great mentor, who helped many, a confidant, best friend and our hero. He will be forever missed, we love you forever. Our father was a dedicated usher at St. Leo Catholic Church in Bonita Springs, FL.

He was dedicated to his faith. Mr. DiSerafino is survived by his loving daughters, Renée Michelle DiSerafino and Gigi Danielle (Lincoln) Brant; his grandsons, Sgt. Sawyer Brant (U.S. Army) and Taylor Brant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Marie (née Migliozzi); brothers, Robert and Raymond; and sister, Lydia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 28300 Beaumont Rd. , Bonita Springs.

Military Honors rendered by an active duty U.S. Army detail will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his name, Captain “D” – Class of 1952, to the Pennsylvania Military College Museum at Widener University in Chester, PA or to St. John’s Soup Kitchen, Newark, NJ. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home – Family Owned Since 1978.
