Obituary for Leonard McCrum Jr. Leonard McCrum Jr., 91, of Estero, FL, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018. Formerly of Pocono Lake, PA and Nutley, NJ, he had been an Estero resident for the last 19 years. He was born December 8, 1926 in West Paterson, NJ, the son of Maria (née Mulier) and Leonard McCrum Sr

Mr. McCrum was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Merchant Marine. He had a long-term career with New Jersey Transit as a Superintendent of numerous garages. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider and rode until he was over 80 years old Mr. McCrum is survived by his loving daughters, Donna Guzman of Pocono Lake, PA and Deborah (George) Braendle of Estero, FL; his sisters, Eleanor (the late Frederick) Koebel of St. Joseph, MI and Marie (the late Wilbur) Munson of Totowa, NJ; four cherished grandchildren, Dawn (Steven) Schultz, Lisa (Michael) Happle, Adam (Germaine) Guzman and Tanja (Sean) Slattery; and fourteen treasured great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June (née Zimmermann) McCrum in 2008 and by his brother, Richard McCrum in 2016. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs.

Visitation for family and friends will take place at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Sportsmen’s Foundation for Military Families, www. huntforvets.com.
