Obituary for John C. Fisher John (Jack) C. Fisher, 77 years old of Bonita Springs, Florida was embraced by the Lord after a long and courageous fight with cancer on Oct. 7, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving wife, Karen, of 55 years and his 4 daughters.

John was a devoted husband and father, and is survived by his wife Karen, and his daughters Denise (Mark) Kast, Michele (Greg) Susko, Tracy (Mark) Davidson and Nicole (Tim) Hartner. He was a proud Grandad to 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Nicholas, Brittany, Melanie, Lindsay, Lauren, Bailey, Blake, Kate, Emma, Kya, Cohen, Eli, Emerson and Sloane. John is also survived by doting sisters Garnet Walsh, Sandy Eddy, and Donna (Mark) Loftus, as well as many nieces and nephews.

John was born March 16, 1941 to Donald and Della Fisher in Robinson, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Akron Ohio, where he graduated from Central High School in 1959. Always brave and strong, John joined the military after graduation in 1959, and served with the army in Germany until 1961.

He then started a family and raised his four daughters in Jackson Township, Ohio, before moving to Westerville, Ohio. Prior to living in Bonita Springs for the past 8 years, John retired from OCSEA, where he was president of PERU in Westerville, Ohio, and preceding this role was employed at BF Goodrich, for 20 years in Jackson Township where he was vice president of the union. He also served as the President of the Men’s Golf Association at Highland Woods Golf Club in Bonita Springs.

Jack is remembered by his friends and family as a dedicated Ohio State Buckeye fan, that bled scarlet and grey, and loved watching the Buckeyes each Saturday. He was an avid golfer, scoring a hole in one this past year at Old Corkscrew Golf Club on hole 2. Golfing was a passion of Jacks that gave him joy, which he has passed down to his grandchildren.

Please join us in celebrating John’s life in Estero, Florida, or Westerville, Ohio: Wednesday, October 10th, at Estero United Methodist Church (8088 Lord’s Way St, Estero, FL 33928); 10 am for visitation, 11 am funeral service with reception immediately following. Saturday, October 20th, at the American Legion Young Bud Post (393 E. College Ave, Westerville, Ohio, 43081); a visitation hour will be held at 12, a service at 1, and celebration of life reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to prostate cancer research to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, (ProstateCancerFoundation.org).
