Obituary for Eleanor T. “Ellie” McDonald Eleanor T. “Ellie” McDonald of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away at age 105 on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Formerly of Akron, OH, she first lived in Naples as a snowbird and then became a resident in Bonita Springs. She was born August 27, 1913 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Theodore Guy and Philomena Christine (née Schleipper) de Ham.

She met her husband, Emmet, while in Pittsburgh and accompanied him to the Panama Canal Zone, where he worked on the canal as a civil engineer. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, music and dancing. In recent years, she had given up wine and swimming but still enjoyed her chocolates and ice cream.

She was a parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Naples. Mrs. McDonald is survived by her loving children, James E. (Carolyn) McDonald of Naples, FL and Barbara (the late Wyatt) Webb of Fairlawn, OH; six cherished grandchildren; and sixteen treasured great- grandchildren, including three sets of twins who will be 11 this year. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Emmet J. McDonald in 1991.

Funeral services and burial will take place in Akron, OH. The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the staff of Hope Hospice for their caring assistance during her final days and suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Hope Hospice, www. hopehospice.org.
